Take out your laptop please...

Recently, there has been a hype among lots of air traveler for special laptop bags that makes it through the airport x-rays without taking out your laptop. Is this really workable or is it more hassle? Read below to find out more...

I have tried out one of these special laptop bags myself (not to say which brand), but hmm... they are really more troublesome and doesn't really solve the problem, currently per say. Anyone who has traveled by plane knows that you need to queue up to get your hand carry items scanned before boarding the plane. I was in a queue who had about 8 people in front, the airport staff was checking the passengers hand carry items and asking those whom have laptops to take it out of their laptop bags.

I decided to try my luck when it was my turn. I did not take out my laptop as I shown the airport staff that I had an approved icon on my bag to state that mine is a special bag that allow the laptop to be scanned even though i kept it inside the laptop bag. The airport staff apparently did not know about this and persist on me getting my laptop out. Not wanting to look like a would-be terrorist and with the pressure of more than 6 pairs of eyes staring me behind, I finally remove my laptop for the scanning.

At this point of time, it can be hard to explain to the airport staff regarding the bags as it was the norm for everyone to get their laptops out for scanning. Well, well... so the special laptop bags didn't work for me and I would promptly switched back to my normal laptop bags till maybe later when the bags get more recognised.

Well, that's my part of the story and apparently someone also had the same experience!
